Dr. Imad Hoballah

Dr. Imad Y. Hoballah serves as the Chairman and CEO of Business Innovation and Development Strategies (BIDS), a consultancy agency in the areas of innovation, technologies, manufacturing, learning and development, and business development.

Dr. Hoballah has over 35 years of rich leadership experience in academia, industry, technology, business development, and consulting, including 23 years in senior management roles in different countries in the US, Middle East, and Africa, including KSA, UAE, and Lebanon.

Dr. Hoballah also held senior leadership positions as the CEO of multiple business development and innovation consultancy agencies and as the CEO of a startup pharmaceutical manufacturing company.

Dr. Imad Y. Hoballah served as the Vice President for “Institutional Advancement and External Relations” and Professor of Business Development in the School of Business at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK).

Dr. Hoballah also served as the Minister of Industry and as the Provost of the American University of Dubai (AUD),  and has guided and taught engineering, business, management, ethics, and innovation courses at various universities including Syracuse University, Tulsa University, the American University of Beirut (AUB), the Lebanese American University (LAU), and the “Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (CNAM).”

He also served on the advisory councils of different schools in the UAE and as a board member of Sodetel, a telecom company.

Dr. Hoballah has served in executive positions for different technology organizations, including Chairman and CEO of Lebanon’s Telecom Regulatory Authority (TRA), Chairman of the Arab Regulators Network for ICT (AREGNET), Vice Chairman of the Arab Spectrum Management Group (ASMG), Vice Chairman of the Arab Infrastructure Regulatory Forum (AIRF), Chairman of multiple committees of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), and CEO of OMNIX, a media networks company. He also served as Chairman of the Pan Arab Observatory for Cyber Security, Chairman of the Arab Internet Governance Forum (IGF), and as a founding Board Member of the Lebanese Internet Center.

Dr. Hoballah also served as the COO and Executive VP for Lucent Technologies, Middle East and Africa (MEA) Region, responsible for the region’s design, deployment, operations, and services of multi-billion-dollar projects.

Professor Hoballah received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (Communications) from Syracuse University in the USA and his Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Columbia University in the USA, a B.S. in Chemistry, a Diploma in General Management, and a Master’s in Project Management.
